One way to Cape Palliser

Jesus :“I am the way the truth and the life”

 Fiji Mission Muslim man:

“I must live consistent with my scriptures.”

Exclusivity of Christ as the way.

But the but the more challenging question is how many ways are there to Christ?

Justine’s 30th birthday bottom of Grand canyon one way in but hundreds of ways to get to that road.

“You search for me and you will find me when you search for me with all your heart I will be found by you declares the Lord.”

The problem with Evangelism is that most often we are more concerned with trying to prove that we are right instead of allowing the righteousness of our lives to shine.

If we go back to the 2nd verse of todays  reading Jesus says in my Fathers house are many roms, the King James translates it in my father’s house are many mansions.

In our Western materialistic culture we m\might get visions of opulence, if you look at the art work that depicts heaven we see Roman pillars and gold. This is a very popular funeral scripture.

But I don’t think that Jesus was really talking about the afterlife in this passage. I think he is actually telling them that he is going to the cross and will then go to the Father.

In my Father’s house the word in Greek is the word:OIKA it literally means Abode or residence. In other words where my Father Resides.

There are many rooms, or mansions, the word here is the word MONAY which is based on the MENO which literally mean a place to stay.

“So this verse should probably read Where my Father resides or lives is a place for you to stay”

The Father doesn’t live somewhere in the future waiting for us to die. The Father lives today His Kingdom is a present reality for those who have found the way.

We are invited into this place in through Christ and we abide with Christ.

John 15:4 “Abide in me and I in you, No branch can bear fruit by itself it must remain in the vine, so you must remain in me.”

Guess what the Greek word for Abide is…”Meno”

Many Christian rend to focus our mission and our ministry of reaching out to people based upon what happens to people after they die. As if salvation and the Kingdom of God was simply about heaven and Hell. When in actuality The afterlife was never really the point.

Jesus didn’t say in John 10:10 I have come that they may not go to hell when they die, did he, No He said I came that might have life and life abundantly.

The point has always been that the Father wants us to live!

In John 1: In the beginning was the word…

In Him was LIFE and that Life is the light of men the light shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it.”

He is the way the truth and the Life,

The real challenge for us is to walk in His way, Abide in his truth and Live his risen life so that every person we meet who is on one of several roads to Jesus may finally see Jesus in you and find their own place to abide in the father.
